London Lions’ newly formed Under 21s will kick off their challenge in the Southern Amateur League this weekend at Rowley Lane.
Designed to provide a bridge between our Under 18s in the Watford Friendly League and the first team, our Under 21s will look to develop young players toward the first team squad.
The team will be managed by Dan Jacobs and Nathan Kosky and coached by Lorenc Dedja.
Jacobs said ‘this is all about giving our young men the chance to gain experience against some good teams, and get into the habits we require for the first team and beyond. Some of the boys have already had that higher level experience, and we want to bring others through. Hopefully this is the start of a more formal journey from our Under 18s into mens’ football’.
The team will play at the Alpha Stadium, Rowley Lane this Saturday, against their counterparts from the U21’s of Isthmian League side Corinthian Casuals. They kicked off their campaign with a thrilling 4-3 win over Somers Town. Their thoughts on U21 football makes good reading – https://sites.google.com/site/corinthiancasuals1882/page-one – as a club we share many of their philosophies so we hope we can emulate their successes.
Come and support the young Lions as they take their bow:
