Lions Under 12 Whites drew 1-1 in a tightly fought game against a Brighton & Hove Albion academy and player development side.
Following on from the teams win at a Norwich City’s London School of Excellence team, this fixture was a long-standing arrangement between Brighton director Darren Bloom and Alex Barnett.
Played at Albion’s indoor academy training facility, the Lions side had a very special day out and competed very well against high quality opposition. So much so, that the invite is open for a repeat match next season.
The boys were then invited to the Amex Stadium to watch Brighton beat MK Dons 2-1 in the Championship to complete a first-class experience for the young Lions.
After the game, our Maccabi badge was even recognised by Brighton’s Israeli players Beram Kayal and Tomer Hemed, who stopped for a chat and photographs.
Chairman Andrew Landesberg added: ‘Congratulations to the team, they did our club proud’
