Lions Junior teams resume their training this week as we prepare for another great season!
With a new intake at Under 7s, the major change comes at the top end of our development funnel, with the Under 18s being replaced by an Under 21 side that will compete against non-league sides across Hertfordshire in a new competition of high calibre.
This will see a better bridge between youth football and our first team in the Herts County Senior League.
Head of Coaching Tony Gold is excited about the season in prospect. ‘We have improved our coaching roster yet again, and we saw the fruits of that last season, so everything is moving in the right direction’.
‘We have some really talented teams, but the attitude has been good- which is the key factor for any aspiring player; they need to listen, be committed and respond to good coaching’.
Lions were very competitive at the older age groups, whilst lower down there is much hope for a number of very strong age groups to keep improving. Indeed, our performance in a number of the WFL end of season league tournaments bodes very well.
Welcome to all our new players and parents, as well as returning ones, and we look forward to many busy Sundays at Rowley Lane in the year ahead!
