Lions striker Max Kyte set a new club goal-scoring record during the memorable Anagram Trophy Final win on Saturday.
Kyte became the only Lions player to net over 40 goals in one season for the first team.
Having eclipsed the previous record of 38 goals held jointly by Adam Bolle (2012/3) and Adam Stolerman (2009/10) on Thursday when he scored against Belstone, Kyte’s 40th of the campaign was from the penalty spot, and quickly followed by a spectacular 41st which sealed the trophy win.
Player of the Year Max praised his team mates for helping him achieve the impressive feat: ‘It was a well deserved win and a great way to end the season. I couldn’t have scored the goals without all the talent behind me in the side.
‘Hopefully there is more to come next year!’
Kyte also looks set to win the Herts County Golden Boot as the league’s top scorer, reaching his impressive tally in 33 appearances.
