Landesberg replaces Gold as first team boss
Lions board have announced some changes to the first team management structure for 2015/16.
Tony Gold will be stepping aside as manager to concentrate on developing the Youth and Coaching areas of the club with the first team now set to be managed by Andy Landesberg, alongside his duties as Chairman.
He will be assisted by Steve Grenfell, the former Spurs and Colchester player who remains in his coaching position, supplemented by the return of Darren Yarlett to first team coaching duties.
Tony Gold added: “For me, it’s all about the future and getting the mentality of our younger players right. By 18, they will have a full understanding of what playing at this level is all about.”
While new manager Landesberg said “I have been involved in the first team for over two years now, so it’s a natural evolution to have Steve, Darren and I run things. We are looking forward to being competitive and bringing some exciting football to Rowley Lane”.
The club would like to thank Tony Gold for helping us get to, and enjoy, an incredible journey in the Spartan South Midlands League; we look forward to seeing a new crop of great, young players emerge from his work in the Juniors.
