We’ll be adding a week-by week report as our new 200-seat Alan Mattey Stand rises from the earth at Rowley Lane.
June 11th 2015: A few days after the workers arrived on site the breeze block walls are rising up.
15th June 2015: More blocks in place along the rear and far side of the stand
21st June 2015: After two weeks work the foundations are coming along nicely
28th June 2015: Foundations for the six floodlight pylons have been set and wired
5th July: Concrete perimeter paths being set
14th July: Smart paths and fencing now surround the primeter; and the base of the stand is set
26th July: Base of the stand looks ready and dug-outs in place on the Rowley Lane side
2nd August: The Alan Mattey Stand is rising out of the ground now and is starting to look awesome!
10th August: The seats are in and the name proudly adorns the roof of The Alan Mattey Stand.
15th August: Lions play their first ever game in front of the stand, which bears the name of a Lions alumi – Alan Mattey. The team wins 5-2 against Ware Sports in a very special day for the club.
